Lessons Offered:

Classical Voice:  The first aim of these lessons is the uncovering and freeing of your natural voice. The secondary goal is the training of your natural voice in the Bel Canto style through body alignment, breath, and vocalises. Students may bring any style/genre of music to use as a learning tool, but focus will be primarily on classical art songs, arias, and choral music, and getting these pieces ready for performance. Generally, the first half of a lesson is spent on technique, second half on applying technique to repertoire.

Tao of the Voice: The ‘Way of the Voice” uses your voice as a starting point for deeper self-discovery. A mix of classical vocal technique, Yoga, and Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way”.  Here is an alternative for those looking outside the classical model, with the same goal of freeing the natural voice through body alignment and breath. These lessons use Yogic breathing techniques and Yoga postures to deepen the mind-body-breath connection. Meant for the adventurous heart willing to enrich the lifelong journey by fully inhabiting the body and freeing the voice as an expressive and communicative medium.

Music Theory Tutorials: For music students who need help on Theory homework, Sight-Singing, Ear Training/Aural Skills, or for those interested in musical analysis of form and harmony. From basic music literacy to college-level analysis and composition.
